Warm up with a pot of homemade Chili this winter

It finally feels like winter here in Maine with temperatures dipping into the negatives last night!  Nothing warms you up more than a hearty bowl of soup, stew or chili during these cold nights.  Between cautiously driving home in the snow, shoveling your front steps and walkways and starting up your wood stove, there isn't much time at the end of the day to create a nice warm meal to enjoy.  Our new Meal Starters make it a little easier to get dinner going.  One of our favorites is our new Chili Starter which is filled with tomatoes, green chilies, peppers and just the right spice.  All you need is ground meat, beans or both!

Stonewall Kitchen Classic Chili
Serves 4-6

  1. Heat oil in a 2-quart saucepan.  Add ground beef and cook over medium-high heat until browned.
  2. Add one jar of Stonewall Kitchen Chili Starter and 1 can of drained and rinsed red kidney beans.
  3. Simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes.  Serve with grated cheddar cheese and sour cream.
