Today, as some may or may not know, is national Bittersweet Chocolate Day! Bittersweet Chocolate, by definition, is composed of at least 35% Chocolate Liquor (unsweetened chocolate). The chocolate liquor is combined with cocoa butter, a small amount of sugar and vanilla to create what we know as Bittersweet Chocolate.
Our Bittersweet Chocolate Sauce is one of our most popular dessert toppings. To celebrate national Bittersweet Chocolate day, we would like to share one of our favorites with some of our readers!

Last years Charity Pancake Breakfast was a huge success and we are excited to do it again tomorrow! People waited in line for an amazing breakfast of Farmhouse Pancakes served up by the founders of Stonewall Kitchen, Jim Stott and Jonathan King, and got to choose their toppings from various syrups, fruits and more.Tomorrow, Saturday, August 6th, we will be hosting the Charity Pancake Breakfast again and we hope you can make it! The cost is $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child, with all proceeds going to the York Community Food Pantry and the Youth Enrichment Center at Hilton-Winn Farm.
This year, Jim & Jonathan will be at the event signing cookbooks and with every cookbook purchase you get a free 16oz Farmhouse Pancake & Waffle Mix!

Sidewalk sale this weekend & the Garden Party.

Grilling with Spice Rubs - Giveaway
When I start preparing to grill dinner it seems I always go right for the grill sauces and marinades. It is so easy to marinate a piece of meat and the flavor you get from it is pretty unbeatable...so I thought.
The other night, I got the chance to try out one of our new spice rubs. Carolina style barbecue holds a special place in my heart. It reminds me of summer vacations to visit my grandparents in North Carolina, sitting on the picnic tables with a Carolina-style pulled pork sandwich and a bag of hush puppies. When I first saw we were introducing a Carolina's Rub I knew I needed to try it as soon as possible; pork, chicken? The options seem endless!
Had I not had the guidance from my chef husband, I might have just dunked the chicken breasts into the rub and threw them on the grill. I was quickly informed that we needed to marinate the chicken breast just like I would with a grill sauce to get a more intense flavor. After a few minutes on a charcoal grill I got the flavor I was looking for. I may have been converted to using spice rubs all the time now and I can't wait to try the other 7 flavors!
Since it's summer time and everyone has the grills lit up, we want to share a few of our new spice rubs with one of our blog readers!

A Chocolate Covered Giveaway!
Last week my colleague and I attended a tradeshow called SIAL in Toronto, Canada. Not only was our Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Sauce nominated for a Trends and Innovations award at the show, but it was one of the customer's favorites! One of the questions asked was "What else can you do with this besides put it on Ice Cream?". Our dessert toppings have endless possibilities! Secretly, we've been known to sneak a few spoonfuls straight from the jar, but they also make a great filling for a cake, topping on a cheesecake or, for a really decadent dessert, on a Dark Chocolate Crepe with a little dab of whipped cream.
